The purpose of the visually based narrative genre is to show the contradiction of how parents claim to be against gun violence yet still they allow their kids to play violent games

● Who is the Audience?

The audience are the parents of American children

● Which rhetorical appeals are used?

The Rhetorical appeal that is used is the emotional appeal pathos which is used to stir the emotion on the views of gun violence. The parents being upset is with the news is mirrored with the kids excitement for his violent game

● Which media and mode does it utilize?

The visually based narrative genre utilizes a political cartoon, the purpose is to comically mock the contradicting views of parents on gun control.

● How does the design/style add to its

purpose?

The cartoon allows for the message to be more subliminal as it being a cartoon gives it an innocent nature. Those that would read it would see the comical end to it and they would be more willing to accept it rather than seeing someone directly target them with the message.

● How this piece be adapted to a movie,

TV show, podcast, miniseries, photo

essay, etc?

This can be adapted to a movie that shows a young child growing up playing violent video games and becomes a serial killer because he wants to relive the video games in real life. He grew up in a gun free home and his parents opposed all weapons.
